With its large picture windows, our lodge offers a view of Lake Winnibigoshish that is unrivaled in Northern Minnesota. Start your day in our grand timber-framed lodge with early morning coffee, updated fishing reports and colorful conversation with your hosts and other guests. Full of stories from years of fellowship and laughter, it’s the perfect place to cozy up to the fireplace with your favorite book or play a board game with the whole family.

Our office is also located in the main lodge. Upon arrival, you will check in, meet your hosts and be shown your accommodations while vacationing at the resort. As the main hub of Bowen’s, the lodge is your go-to place for area information, as well as the purchasing of bait, Bowen Lodge clothing, select grocery items and other essentials. At the end of the day, be sure to stop in and share your highlights from the day, whether it be an exciting morning on the water or a relaxing afternoon at the beach. You might even be tempted to leave with an ice cream sandwich.

Timeless craftsmanship meets modern luxury

Built by Bill and Gail in 1991, the main lodge has been enjoyed by countless guests of Bowen Lodge throughout the years. Incredible Douglas fir beams compose the timber frame structure, while pine paneling sourced from the property complete the iconic room. The stone fireplace — also handcrafted by Bill — is the perfect spot for warming your bones after a chilly spring day, for riding out a July thunderstorm, or just settling in with a book for a quiet summer afternoon.

In 2023, Benchmade Knife Company descended upon Bowen Lodge for the release of the Water Collection; a series of premium knives fit for a lifestyle on the lake, sea or stream. In the years that followed, Benchmade’s presence and popularity grew among our guests and we became an authorized dealer, carrying a wide variety of knives from cutlery, everyday carry, hunting, and more.

Go on a shopping spree

Our lodge is a great place to pick up gifts, select grocery items, souvenirs and Bowen Lodge clothing to remind you of your Minnesota vacation long after you have returned home. You can also purchase your license, tackle and other fishing supplies for your day on the lake.

Join us in coffee corner

A tradition for early risers at Bowen’s, join your hosts in the lodge between 7:00 and 8:00am for the latest fishing report and rich conversation that is always enlightening. Every morning, coffee is on us. Indulge in Gail’s fresh baked cinnamon rolls, a special treat, every Sunday morning during peak season.
